The Barefoot Films GmbH is a German film production company of Til Schweiger , based in Berlin .

history

Barefoot Films GmbH was founded in Cologne in 2004 and was initially headed by film producer Thomas Zickler . Actor Til Schweiger was already the sole shareholder of the company . Schweiger and Zickler had already produced successful films together in the past, such as Knockin 'on Heaven's Door (1997) or Der Eisbär (1998).

The first film by Barefoot Films was the love film Barefoot (2005), directed by Schweiger. With the exception of the 2007 thriller One Way by director Reto Salimbeni , all of the company's films were shot in German.

At the end of 2007 the headquarters of Barefoot Films were relocated from Cologne to Berlin. Christian Specht is now the company's managing director.
