Barugo is a Filipino municipality in the province of Leyte on the island of Leyte . It has 32,745 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 37 barangays . The community is described as partially urban and belongs to the fourth income bracket of communities in the Philippines. Their neighboring communities are Carigara in the west, San Miguel in the east and Tunga in the south. In the north the municipality borders on the Bay of Carigara, which is a bay in the Samar Sea .
