Bavarian beer queen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bavarian Beer Queen is the representative of Bavarian beer . It has been elected for one year since 2009.

history

After the German wine-growing regions have been electing their wine queens every year since 1931 , and the Franconian wine-growing region in Bavaria since 1950 , and a Hallertau hop queen since 1952 , a competition for the title of Bavarian Beer Queen was announced for the first time in 2009 by the Bavarian Brewery Association .

Applicants for the title should come from Bavaria and be at least 18 years old. They should also know the Bavarian tradition, culture and society.

The reign has so far been reserved for women. The application of a male beer queen was rejected in 2018 after "evaluation of all arguments".
