Be Yourself Tonight is the fourth studio album by the Eurythmics , which was released at the end of April 1985 and also received a respectable success after Touch .
history
After the heavily synth-pop- heavy albums Sweet Dreams , Touch and Touch Dance , Eurythmics strived for a style change and turned to the Motown sound. Therefore, there were more soul and rock elements in the songs on the album. Duets with Aretha Franklin ( Sisters Are Doin 'It for Themselves ) and Elvis Costello ( Adrian ) and a collaboration with Stevie Wonder ( There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart) ), in which Wonder played the harmonica , underscored this homage. The majority of it was recorded in Paris . Additional recordings took place in Detroit and Los Angeles .
There was no tour after the album was released, as Annie Lennox was suffering from vocal cord nodules at the time ; for the same reason, the band was unable to attend the Live Aid concert.
