The place is the headquarters of the House of Beauvau .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Beauveau , Chaumont-d'Anjou , Jarzé and Lué-en-Baugeois were merged into a Commune nouvelle called Jarzé Villages. The municipality of Beauvau belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Angers-6 (until 2015: canton Seiches-sur-le-Loir ).
