Beheading of a King is a Canadian deathcore / metalcore band from Montreal / Québec .
history
Beheading of a King was founded by the musicians Simon-Pierre Renaud ( drums ), Pierre-Olivier Fortin ( guitar ), Rick Patenaude ( vocals ) and Benoit Coté ( bass guitar ) in the Canadian city of Montreal. In 2009, Rick Patenaude was replaced by Mathieu Paquette and became the band's second guitarist.
Already at the beginning of the band, Beheading of a King celebrated successes on a regional level. So the group won the D-Tox Band Wars . There the band prevailed against 25 other regionally successful bands. In 2009 their first EP was released. This was named after the band. Two Canada tours followed, including with A Plea for Purging , Fall in Archaea ( The Canadian Mosh Potatour ) and Misery Signals (support with Structures ). On the Crush 'Em All Tour , Beheading of a King played with Veil of Maya , After the Burial and ABACABB . The group has also played with Arsonists Get All the Girls , The Agonist , Attila , Bury Your Dead , Suicide Silence and Blind Witness .
The group signed a contract with Outerloop Management due to its rapid success. Outerloop also has other successful bands under contract, such as Veil of Maya , Oceano and Periphery .
2011 has been mixed for the group so far. Singer Mathieu Paquette committed suicide while recording the second EP Quasar . The new man at the microphone is Rick Patenaude, who was a member of the band before and played guitar. The EP was released on June 7, 2011. The group is currently touring Canada for the third time.
Her previously released EPs are available on iTunes and are distributed by CD Baby . In Germany, both EPs are only available as a download on Amazon . Furthermore, there's an eponymous song on the album Fate of Norns of Amon Amarth . Whether this song was decisive for the naming of this band is questionable.
On March 15, 2012, the group toured Canada again. The tour headlined the band This or the Apocalypse . The name of this tour is The Haunt of Death Tour and was organized by the Motion Nation Group. On December 17, 2012, the single Handcraftet was released along with a music video.
