Bekim Kastrati (born March 25, 1979 in Peć , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is a former Albanian football player and current coach .

Career

society

At the beginning of his career, Kastrati played a. a. at FC Wegberg-Beeck, at Aris Thessaloniki and his youth club KF Peja.

In 2004, Kastrati moved from the amateur club Borussia Freialdenhoven to Borussia Mönchengladbach . As a striker in the U-23 he was the top scorer in the Oberliga Nordrhein in the 2005/06 season with 29 goals . He also played four games for the professional team.

In order to get more match practice as a professional, he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006 . After only one year with a lot of injuries ( torn ACL ) Bekim Kastrati joined the 2007/08 season in the Regionalliga Nord for league rivals Fortuna Dusseldorf where he wanted to build on its sporting successes. In January 2008, he tore his testicle in a test match against FC Bayern Munich .

In the summer of 2009, Kastrati signed a one-year contract with third division club Dynamo Dresden .

In Dresden, however, he could not prevail as desired and was deported to the squad of the second team. Thereupon Kastrati asked in January 2010 to terminate his contract. Before that, he had already completed a trial training session in Bonn with the regional league team Bonner SC . There he convinced and signed a contract in Bonn until the end of the 2010/11 season. Kastrati scored twice in his first league game for Bonn, leading the Bonner SC to a 5-1 win over Wormatia Worms . Despite relegation, the Bonner SC received no license for the 2010/11 season in the Regionalliga. This also terminated the Kastrati contract. He then signed a contract with Wuppertaler SV Borussia , which also plays in the Regionalliga West. In October 2011 he was removed from the professional squad by new coach Hans-Günter Bruns and from now on plays for the reserve in the Lower Rhine League .

In the summer of 2012 he joined the upper division TuS Bösinghoven , which he left again after the 2012/13 season.

On August 12, 2013, the district division SC Rheindahlen announced the engagement of Kastrati. There he completed ten league games in the 2013/14 season, in which he scored three goals. Here he appeared briefly as a player-coach, in which he also committed himself, and from the 2014/15 season onwards concentrated only on his coaching activity. In the summer of 2016 it was announced that Kastrati had been accepted as a coach at the DFB base in Mönchengladbach / Viersen. In November 2017 he took over the coaching position of the district league club SV Mönchengladbach . For the 2018/19 season, the DJK Teutonia St. Tönis introduced Kastrati as a new trainer.

National team

In 2006, Kastrati was used in three international matches of the Albanian national team . There were no further missions in the period that followed.
