Benjamin N. Garland (* 6. April 1988 in Grand Junction , Colorado ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the guards , centers and defensive tackles . He plays for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Garland attended high school in his hometown, Grand Junction, Colorado. Between 2006 and 2009, he attended the United States Air Force Academy . In 39 games for the Air Force football team, he scored 115 tackles , 11.5 sacks and three forced fumbles as a defensive tackle .

NFL

Denver Broncos

After Garland was not considered in the 2010 NFL draft , the Denver Broncos signed him. Due to his military career with the United States Air Force , where he was stationed at Scott Air Force Base between 2010 and 2012 , he was placed on the reserve list on September 4, 2010. After some stays in the Broncos Practice Squad , Garland was able to make his NFL debut on November 9, 2014 in the game against the Oakland Raiders . He was released from the Broncos on September 5, 2015.

Atlanta Falcons

On September 9, 2015, Garland signed a contract for the Atlanta Falcons Practice Squad . On December 15, 2015, he was added to the first 53-man squad. On January 14, 2017 in the playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks , Garland was able to achieve a safety against quarterback Russell Wilson . He reached the Super Bowl LI with the Falcons , which was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 .

San Francisco 49ers

On April 23, 2019, Garland signed with the San Francisco 49ers . In his first season he reached the Super Bowl LIV with the 49ers , which, however, was lost to the Kansas City Chiefs at 31:20 .
