Ben Torremans (born January 16, 1988 ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HYC Herentals since 2005 and has played with the club in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2015 .

Career

Ben Torremans began his career with Olympia Heist op den Berg , for which he made his debut in the Belgian honorary division in 2004 as a 16-year-old . In 2005 he moved to the league competitor HYC Herentals . With the Flemings he won the Belgian championship title in 2009 and 2012 and the cup competition in 2012 and 2013 . From 2010 to 2012 he also took part in the Belgian-Dutch North Sea Cup with the IHC . When he was discontinued in 2012, he moved with HYC to the stronger Dutch honor division . Since 2015 he has played with the club in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe Leaguewhich he was able to win in 2016 at the first attempt. He also won the championship and cup double with HYC in 2016 and 2017.

International

In the junior division Torremans played with Belgium at the U18 World Championships in Division III in 2005 and in Division II in 2006 and in Division III at the U20 World Cup in 2007 when he was the tournament's best goal setter.

For the Belgian men's national team , Torremans took part in the World Championships in Division II in 2007 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 and 2014 , with 2012 being promoted from group B to group A.
