Benedito Beni dos Santos

Benedito Beni dos Santos (born January 15, 1937 in Lagoinha ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Lorena .

Life

Benedito Beni dos Santos was ordained a priest for the diocese of Taubaté on December 22, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in São Paulo and titular bishop of Nasai on November 28, 2001 . The Archbishop of São Paulo, Cláudio Cardinal Hummes OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on February 9 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Carmo João Rhoden SCI , Bishop of Taubaté, and Antônio Afonso de Miranda SDN , Former Bishop of Taubaté. As a motto he chose SUB TUUM PRÆSIDIUM . His inauguration in the Archdiocese of São Paulo took place on March 9, 2002.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on April 26, 2006 Bishop of Lorena .

On September 25, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
