Benito Adán Méndez Bracamonte (born December 3, 1962 in Mene Grande , Zulia , Venezuela) is a Venezuelan clergyman and Roman Catholic military bishop of Venezuela .

Life

Benito Adán Méndez Bracamonte studied theology and philosophy at the Santa Rosa de Lima seminary in Caracas. On June 25, 1990 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Trujillo .

After he was, among other things, sub-rain of the diocesan seminary and cathedral pastor at the Cathedral of Trujillo, he was incardinated in the clergy of the Venezuelan military ordinariate in 2001 . Here he was active as a military chaplain, as head of the training seminar and as vicar general .

Pope Francis appointed him military bishop of Venezuela on June 8, 2015. The Archbishop of Caracas , Jorge Cardinal Urosa , donated him the episcopal ordination on July 10th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cumaná , Diego Padrón , and the Bishop of Barinas , José Luis Azuaje Ayala .
