Benjamin Pauquet (born June 11, 1984 in Marburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Benjamin Pauquet was born in Marburg , Hesse . He completed his acting studies from 2005 to 2009 at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Art "Ernst Busch" . During his studies he played the Yang Sun in The Good Man of Sezuan (2007; director: Uta Koschel) at the bat studio theater and at the Maxim Gorki theater .

At the beginning of the 2009/2010 season he became a member of the ensemble at the Dresden State Theater . His stage roles there included u. a. Slift in Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe (2009; director: Tilmann Köhler ), Christian Hoffmann in Wolfgang Engels' world premiere of Der Turm by Uwe Tellkamp (2010), Kostja in Chekhov's Die Möwe (2011; director: Burkhard C. Kosminski ), Gratiano in The Merchant of Venice (2011; director: Tilmann Köhler) and Maik Klingenberg in the world premiere of Tschick (2011; director: Jan Gehler ).

For Tschick , he received the Günter Rühle Prize from the city of Bensheim in 2012 together with Lea Ruckpaul and Sebastian Wendelin .

In the 2012/2013 season he worked with René Pollesch in Kapital der Puppen . He was as Heinrich in Der Drache (2013; Director: Wolfgang Engel), as Erich in Tales from the Vienna Woods (2013; Director: Barbara Bürk), as Bleichenwang in Was ihr wollt (2014; Director: Andreas Kriegenburg) and as Bernard Marx can be seen in Brave New World (2014; Director: Roger Vontobel ). He also worked with Sandra Strunz, Jan Neumann, Friederike Heller, Julia Hölscher, Sapir Heller, Christina Rast and played with Volker Lösch in Graf Öderland / Wir sind das Volk (2015), in Oliver Frljić's Requiem for Europe (2016) and in the world premiere of Thomas Freyer's Kein Land. With the 2017/2018 season, Pauquet was engaged at the Nationaltheater Mannheim , where he can be seen as Winston Smith in 1984 (premiere: November 2017; director: Georg Schmiedleitner ).

From September 2018 Pauquet will be a member of the Schauspiel Stuttgart ensemble.

In 2011 he starred in the film Sometimes we sit and think and sometimes we just sit (director: Julian Pörksen ), which was shown at the 2012 Berlinale .

Benjamin Pauquet lives in Stuttgart and Dresden .
