Benjamin Ulbrich

Benjamin Ulbrich (* 1981 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian actor, musician, author and cultural manager.

Career

theatre

While still studying acting at the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna , he became a member of the Tyrolean Landestheater (2005–2008) under the directorship of Brigitte Fassbaender and Drama Director Klaus Rohrmoser .

This was followed by engagements at various stages in German-speaking countries: Stadttheater Fürth (2010-2011), Theater in Kempten (2011-2015), Theater Regensburg (Bavarian Theatertage 2010) , Stadttheater Bruneck (2011-2019), Bad Ischl Summer Games (2008), Silbersommer Schwaz (2010), Stadttheater Mödling and Scala Wien (2014-2017), Merano Festival (2018) and others. At the Tiroler Landestheater he appeared for the last time in 2012 (the year of departure of the artistic directors Brigitte Fassbaender and Klaus Rohrmoser) as Tybalt in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet , directed by Oliver Karbus , an important companion and mentor of Ulbrich.

In 2010 he worked with Ute Heidorn at the State Theater Innsbruck with the director Ernst Gossner , who is best known for his film work .

Most recently, he worked in the large-scale production Diamante at the Wiener Festwochen in 2019 under the direction of Mariano Pensotti , a star director of the international theater scene . Musicians and speakers

From 1989 to 2000 Benjamin Ulbrich took singing lessons at the Innsbruck Conservatory. As a singer and rhythm guitarist, he participated in various band projects.

This was followed by appearances as a singer and guitarist in various theater and music theater productions: in 2013, for example, he played and sang Oskar in Franz Xaver Kroetz 's posse “Dolomitenstadt Lienz”. In Diamante at the Wiener Festwochen (2019) he was the former rocker Daniel, who played several guitars and drums in the piece.
