Benni Bauerdick , (born November 8, 1988 in Lennestadt ) is a German presenter and journalist. He lives with his husband in Cologne - Ehrenfeld .

Career

Bauerdick began his radio career in March 2010 at Radio Siegen, where, after completing his internship, he hosted the program "Radio Siegen am Morgen with Benni Bauerdick" from 2012 to 2015. He interviewed stars from the music industry, reported as a political reporter from the region and presented several times the largest broadcast of Radio Siegen live from the international music and theater festival KulturPur . From 2013 to 2014 he also worked as a reporter for the NRW local broadcasters Radio Köln and Radio Berg and did internships at Hit Radio FFH and RTL Punkt 12 . In 2015 he switched to the young wave of Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln : 1 Live , where he presented the daily afternoon show at 1 Live DIGGI . In November 2016 there was a program complaint against the WDR because of Bauerdick . On November 16, the presenter said on the program: "I just came from the toilet, I sent another Obama to the White House". He apologized for this statement in the current program. WDR director Tom Buhrow said in his report for the WDR Broadcasting Council that the comment violated the principle laid down in the WDR law that human dignity should be respected and protected.

After graduating from high school in Lennestadt in 2008, Bauerdick completed his community service in the Balthasar children's and youth hospice in Olpe . Since then, Bauerdick has been a celebrity sponsor for the hospice and moderates various events for the Balthasar on a voluntary basis. In 2018 he also led through the anniversary gala of the DRK children's clinic in Siegen . In addition, he has reported nationwide in reports and articles on the work of children's hospices and drawn attention to their indispensable importance for society. As a conversation partner in podcasts, he also advocates more tolerance and acceptance of the LGBT community.
