Wilhelmsen and the Brazilian state company Docenave . The keel of the ship was laid on March 12th, the launch on December 17th, 1985. The completion took place on March 27th, 1987. The ship, which initially sailed under the Liberian flag , was designed as an ore / oil cargo ship . It was used together with its sister ship Tijuca (later Berge Vik , scrapped in 2015) for transporting ore from Brazil to Japan and subsequent oil transport from the Persian Gulf to Europe . Each of these tours lasted around 100 days.

From March 2017 the ship was scrapped in Chittagong .

The superstructures , which extended over around half the width of the ship, were arranged aft. At the level of the bridge deck there were two bridge cams , which extended from the bridge over the entire width of the ship.

There were five cargo holds in front of the superstructure , each of which was closed with two hatch covers. The hatch covers could be opened to the starboard side .
