The mountain level near Dahenfeld in the Baden-Württemberg district of Heilbronn is 338.8  m above sea level. NHN the highest point of the Sulmer mountain range .

The mountain range is located in the center of the Sulmer mountain range about 1.5 km south-east of Dahenfeld , a district of Neckarsulm , 750 m north-northeast of Buchhorn, a hamlet of Eberstadt , and 3.3 km (as the crow flies ) southwest of Cleversulzbach , a district of Neuenstadt at the stove . While the elevation largely belongs to the Neuenstadt city area, including the summit, its west and northwest flanks belong to the Neckarsulm area and its south flank to that of Eberstadt.

The landscape of the mountain plateau drops to the northeast into the Renntal of the Brettach tributary Limbach and to the south into the valley of the Eberbach tributary Schmalbach . While the summit region and high elevations of the elevation are forested, viticulture is practiced on its southern slope and agriculture in the north . On the mountain plateau is part of the 54.27  km² large Fauna Flora Habitat type region Löwensteiner and Heilbronner mountains (FFH no. 7021-341).

The mountain range belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land (number 10), in the main unit Swabian-Franconian forest mountains (108) and in the sub-unit Löwensteiner Berge (108.1) to the natural area Sulmer Bergebene (108.11).

Transport links

Minimum 1.2 km east-southeast past the mountain plain leading the county road  2007, which in Neuenstadt on the country's road  starts in 1088 and from there south through Cleversulzbach , the Federal Highway 81 Crossing it, the L 1036 between Eberstadt and woods leads. From side streets that end in Dahenfeld , located northwest of the elevation , which can be reached on the L 1095 (Neuenstadt – Dahenfeld– Amorbach ), and in Buchhorn to the south, which can be approached on the K 2006 (Eberstadt – Buchhorn) There are numerous ways to get to the mountain range , especially through the forest .
