Bernard Zacharias

Bernard Zacharias (born July 16, 1929 in Sables-d'Olonne ) is a French writer who has also emerged as a jazz trombonist and band leader .

Act

Zacharias first studied philosophy (graduated in 1947), then medicine. He also played in Claude Luter's orchestra . In the late 1940s he was a member of the Pierre Braslavsky orchestra in Paris , with whom he appeared at the Festival International 1949 de Jazz with the soloist Sidney Bechet . He worked in the 1950s a. a. with Albert Nicholas , Claude Bolling , Claude Luter, Guy Lafitte and Mustaches Jazz Seven . Under his own name ( Bernard Zacharias et ses solistes ) he recorded several Gershwin titles in the early 1950s such as " I Got Plenty of Nothing ", " It Ain't Necessarily So ", " The Man I Love " and "Somebody Loves Me" which appeared on the LP Gershwin Parade (Club français du disque) in 1954 and were re-released in the EmArcy series Jazz in Paris under the title Modern Jazz at Saint-Germain-Des-Pres . His band included Roger Guérin , Robert Casier (French horn), Michel de Villers (bass clarinet), Jean Claude Fohrenbach , André Persiani , Guy Pedersen and Jacques David (drums); The session was arranged by Buddy Banks . In 1956 he made further recordings under his own name, initially the two numbers " Lullaby of the Leaves " and " Tea for Two ", and finally an LP with Cole-Porter titles. In the 60s he presented the EP Musique ... en coulisses on the Versailles label with Claude Gousset under the pseudonym Bernard Zac . In the field of jazz he was involved in 37 recording sessions between 1949 and 1968. a. also with Raymond Fol , Mezz Mezzrow , Nelson Williams and Maxim Saury .

He has been in advertising since the 1960s. Together with Henri Viard he wrote four detective novels. The first of these novels, Le Roi des Mirmidous , parodies Iliad of Homer . The second novel, L'Embrumé , is based on Hamlet by William Shakespeare , while the third of the novels, Le Mytheux , is based on the material of Lorenzaccio by Alfred de Musset . The fourth of the novels, L'Aristocloche , adapted Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes . He also wrote scripts for film productions.
