Bernd Mannhardt

Bernd Mannhardt (born June 30, 1961 in Berlin ) is a German writer.

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Bernd Mannhardt first completed a commercial apprenticeship in retail, then trained as an educator. He worked in a Berlin House of Youth , where he was active in cultural work and responsible for public relations . The latter became his main focus of work, which he deepened with an evening course to become a state-certified communications specialist and distance learning to become a journalist .

In addition to his activity in cultural work, Bernd Mannhardt published specialist articles on the practice of public relations for a loose-leaf publication of the Haufe Group , wrote reports and reviews for the Berlin city magazine Zitty and wrote broadcast manuscripts for the radio feature of Deutschlandradio Kultur .

Furthermore, Bernd Mannhardt wrote satirical songs and cabaret texts in the 1980s and wore them a. a. in stage supporting programs solo to acoustic guitar, but also as a duo with either the Berlin cabaret artists Michael Z., Beppo Pohlmann (formerly Gebrüder Blatt Schuss ) or the guitarist at the time and today's composer and recording studio owner Martin Anding. Anding and Mannhardt founded the song project Mothers Children at the same time . The demo recordings made with German-language pop songs did not find a professional producer and were therefore not published.

Bernd Mannhardt's first literary work, a one-act play, was published in an anthology of pieces in 1987. In 2015 his novel debut “Final Chord. A Moabit thriller ”at the Berlin publishing house be.bra . From this a series title developed around the "Commissioner Hans-Joachim Freisal". In addition to the Freisal novels, Bernd Mannhardt writes black-humored short stories that were published in 2014 as a text collection by Schardt-Verlag , Oldenburg. Bernd Mannhardt has also been active as a self- publisher since 2011 and publishes e-books and paperbacks via Book On Demand on epubli .

Bernd Mannhardt has been a member of the Syndikat , the authors' association of German-language crime literature, since 2013 , and of the VS , the association of German writers , since 2017 . Since 2014 he has regularly presented his works at the Berlin Crime Marathon crime festival as well as his own author readings .

Bernd Mannhardt lives in Berlin-Tegel .
