Bernd Wagner (writer)
Bernd Max Wagner (born May 30, 1948 in Wurzen , Saxony ) is a German writer . He lives in Berlin.
Life
After Bernd Wagner completed an apprenticeship as a structural fitter , he studied German and art education at the Erfurt University of Education from 1966 to 1970 . From 1970 to 1977 he was a teacher for German and art education in Schmachtenhagen . Sarah Kirsch was a mentor for his acceptance into the GDR Writers' Association . He was one of the co-signatories of the protest resolution against the expatriation of Wolf Biermann . After he had given up teaching, Wagner lived as a freelance writer in East Berlin from 1977 . From 1983 to 1985 he published the illegal literary magazine Mikado with Lothar Trolle and Uwe Kolbe every three months. In 1985, Wagner was expatriated by the GDR authorities and moved to West Berlin , where he has lived since then. In 1994 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt .
Bernd Wagner is the author of novels , stories , children's books , essays , poems and dramas . From 1980 to 1985 he was a member of the Writers 'Association of the GDR and from 1992 to 2002 of the authors' group of the Federal Republic . He received u. a. The following awards: 1987 a working grant for Berlin writers, 1995 a grant from the German Literature Fund, 1996 a grant from the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben and in 2003 a grant from the Prussian Sea Action Foundation . For 2013 the city of Magdeburg named him "Magdeburg city clerk ". In 2019 he became Dresden city clerk .
The satire Mao and the 72 monkeys will appear in autumn 2020 . The secret memoirs of the Eternal Chairman edited and translated by Bernd Wagner in the series Exil of the edition buchhaus loschwitz announced.
