Bernhard Ditteney

Bernhard Ditteney (* 6. May 1933 in Porto Feliz de Mondahy , Brazil ; † 22. June 2010 ) was a German lawyer and longtime district administrator of the district of Karlsruhe .

biography

After graduating from high school in Weinheim, he studied law in Heidelberg and Tübingen and, after passing the second state examination, entered the public service of the state of Baden-Württemberg . First he worked at the Emmendingen District Office and then at the Karlsruhe Regional Council , where he was the head of the “Material Police Law” department and served as a government councilor for life in 1965.

From 1967 to 1969 he was a consultant for building law at the Karlsruhe regional council. In March 1969 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. in Heidelberg. In May 1969 he became head of the building law office of the Karlsruhe district office . In this function he was involved in a leading position in the preparation of the local government reform of 1970.

After the departure of District Administrator Joseph Groß , he was appointed official administrator of the old district of Karlsruhe in 1971 as his successor . When, after the Baden-Württemberg district reform of January 1, 1973, the district of Karlsruhe was enlarged to include the entire district of Bruchsal and a total of 10 locations in the districts of Sinsheim , Vaihingen , Pforzheim and Rastatt , he was initially appointed administrative administrator of this new greater district .

On July 18, 1973, Dr. Bernhard Ditteney was elected for the first time as district administrator for the district of Karlsruhe . After his re-election by the Karlsruhe district assembly in 1981 and 1989, he was in office until he retired in 1997. During his more than 24 years as a district administrator, he devoted himself to expanding the infrastructure through construction work in the areas of transport , education and health care as well as "local foreign policy" by entering into partnerships with the county of Gwent in Wales in 1978 and with the region Sha'ar HaNegev in Israel 1992.

In addition to the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany (1997) and the Golden Medal of Honor of the Karlsruhe district, he was also awarded the honorary citizenship of the Gwent and Sha'ar Hanegev partnership circles for his services .
