Bernhard Raschauer

Bernhard Raschauer (born April 19, 1948 in Vienna ; † September 3, 2019 there ) was an Austrian legal scholar .

Life

Bernhard Raschauer completed his training as an academic translator for English in 1970. The study of law at the University of Vienna in 1971 followed his promotion to Dr. iur. He qualified as a lecturer in constitutional law, administrative law and foreign public law at the Vienna Faculty of Law. He was an associate professor since 1982 and a full professor since 1989.

He was a member of the Max Planck Institute for International Law in Heidelberg . From 1985 to 1991 he was environmental lawyer for the state of Lower Austria , and since 1989 head of the department for public commercial law. He was also a member of the Austria Convention (2003-2005)

On his 60th birthday in 2008, the commemorative publication “On Structure and Diversity in Public Law” was dedicated to him. A commemorative publication was also published on his 65th birthday, which was presented on April 25, 2013 at a ceremony at the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

In the dispute over the small game of chance in Vienna, he and Theodor Öhlinger took over legal support from Novomatic , a gaming group that is fighting against the ban on slot machines.

Since 1968 he was a member of the Catholic student association KaV Norica Vienna in the ÖCV .
