Bethany is a town in Genesee County in the US state of New York . In 2010, Bethany had 1765 residents. The town is located on the southern county line of Genesee County. US Route 20 and NYS Route 63 pass through Bethany.

history

The area was settled around 1803. The Town of Bethany was founded in 1812, with its area carved out from the Town of Batavia .
