Bettina Jung (* 1971 in Mainz ) is a German animal healer and politician from Wenzendorf . From March 21 to December 28, 2015, she was one of a total of three equal federal chairmen of the Human Environment and Animal Welfare party .

Life

Jung already worked in the practice of a veterinarian during her school days. After finishing school, she began studying veterinary medicine . However, she broke this off because she refused to conduct animal experiments . She then began training in homeopathy and acupuncture . From the age of twelve she was a vegetarian . She is now vegan . She has been running an animal health practice in Dierstorf since 1999 . She is also a lecturer at the Paracelsus School . She is the mother of a son.

Political activities

Bettina Jung joined the animal protection party in 2009 . A year later she was first deputy chairwoman of the Hamburg regional association; from 2011 she was state chairman there. From November 2013 she was an assessor on the federal executive board. At the special party conference on March 21, 2015, which resulted from the resignation of several board members - including the two party chairmen Stefan Bernhard Eck and Barbara Nauheimer - at the turn of the year 2014/2015, she was elected alongside Horst Wester and Matthias Ebner as one of three equal federal chairmen . On December 28 of the same year, she resigned from all functions and resigned from the party.

January 2018 she initiated a class action lawsuit against Beatrix von Storch and Alice Weidel from the AfD for incitement to hatred at the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office, which led, among other things, to controversial discussions about freedom of expression and the Network Enforcement Act.
