District Office Philippsburg
The district office of Philippsburg had been an office in the margraviate of Baden since 1803 . It was dissolved in 1864 as part of a reform of the administrative structure.

Due to the sixth edict of organization of 1803, the previous Speyer office of Philippsburg became the office of Philippsburg in the margraviate of Baden .
The following places were assigned to the office: Dettenheim , Huttenheim , Kirrlach , Neudorf , Oberhausen , Philippsburg, Rheinhausen , St. Leon , Rheinsheim , Rot and Wiesental . The district now had 6456 inhabitants. The previous bailiff, Franz Josef Schoch, was taken over by the new sovereign and headed the office until 1813. The salary consisted of 650 gulden , 10 Malter grain, 12 Malter spelled , two loads of wine and a free apartment in the administrative building. Only an official commissioner and a clerk were available to him as employees. By 1825 the population of the district rose to over 10,000 and the number of employees on the administrative board increased to four, consisting of two actuaries , an official auditor and a chancellery. In addition to the general administrative tasks, the office, like all Baden district offices of the time, had police and criminal investigations into poaching , theft, injuries and the like. a. perform. It was not until 1857 that the judiciary was separated from general administration in Baden and the Philippsburg District Court was established. As a result of an administrative reform, the Philippsburg district office was abolished on October 1, 1864 and eight years later the district court, which was only established in 1857, was closed. The Oberamt Bruchsal was combined with the abolished Philippsburg office to form the Bruchsal district office , which now belonged to the newly formed Karlsruhe district .
