Wilhelm Hübsch (Chief Bailiff)

Wilhelm Christian Hübsch (born March 20, 1804 in Weinheim ; † August 15, 1866 in Lichtental ; Protestant) was a lawyer who had been in the Baden state service since 1840 and was retired on May 20, 1862.

Wilhelm Hübsch was the son of Karl Samuel Hübsch (born March 11, 1768 in Weinheim; † July 20, 1842 ibid), postal administrator in Weinheim. On July 9, 1856, he married Auguste Friederike née Holtz, widowed Witzenmann (born August 31, 1825 in Karlsruhe , † October 10, 1889 in Lichtental), daughter of Major General Ernst Holtz and Friederike née Weinbrenner. This marriage resulted in three children: Auguste Franziska (* August 20, 1857), Leopold Joseph (* March 19, 1859) and Frieda (* October 6, 1865 - † August 18, 1866).

Wilhelm Hübsch began studying law at the University of Heidelberg on May 2, 1825 , became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg and passed his exam in 1830. From 1830 to 1833 he was a legal intern at the Weinheim district office . From February 1833 to the end of 1836 he interrupted his education to travel with an emigrant group to the USA and live there in Arkansas and New York . In 1837 he became an intern again, now in the secretariat of the Upper Court Court of the Lower Rhine District in Mannheim and then at the Mannheim Landamt .

career

Wilhelm Hübsch was an assessor at the Heidelberg Oberamt around 1840 before he became a police assessor at the Mannheim City Office on October 1, 1840 . On April 25, 1842, he worked as a police assessor at the Karlsruhe City Office. On October 1, 1843 he was bailiff and head of the district office in Eberbach and from March to September 1848 he took six months of vacation for a trip to America. After that he was from October 4, 1848 bailiff at the district office Stühlingen and on November 26, 1850 bailiff at the district office Philippsburg . There he was appointed Oberamtmann on July 30, 1852. On May 20, 1862, Wilhelm Huebsch was retired.
