Bieniewo (German Benern ) is a village in the municipality of Lubomino (Arnsdorf) in the Powiat Lidzbarski (Heilsberg district) in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
Geographical location
The village is located in historic East Prussia , about 19 kilometers west-southwest of Heilsberg ( Lidzbark Warmiński ) and 38 kilometers north of Allenstein ( Olsztyn ).
history
In 1945 Benern belonged to the district Heilsberg in Administrative district Königsberg the province of East Prussia of the German Reich .
Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in early 1945 and, according to the Potsdam Agreement, together with the southern half of East Prussia and all of West Prussia, became part of the People's Republic of Poland . The established villagers were driven out of Benern in the following period .
