Handels- en Transportmij Bingham & Co BV is a Dutch company.

Company history

The brothers Seymour and Daniál George founded the company S. Bingham & Co. in Rotterdam in 1871 and began renting out tarpaulins that were needed in the Rotterdam ports. In 1890 the production of bicycles was started, which was shortly followed by motorcycles . The brand name for the two-wheelers was Eenhorn . In 1905 the first three-wheeled automobiles were made , which were marketed as Autolette . In 1906 four-wheeled models were added, one of which was offered as the Bingham . Automobile production ended in 1907. In addition, Oldsmobile vehicles were imported for a while from 1903 . At some point the company was converted into a BV and was given the name Handels- en Transportmij Bingham & Co BV The company is still active as a rental company for tarpaulins.

Tricycles

The tricycles had two wheels at the front with a seat for one passenger in between. The driver sat behind it. An air-cooled single - cylinder two-stroke engine with 4 HP power provided the drive .

Four-wheelers

The company offered small cars with either 5 HP, 5½ HP (single-cylinder engine) or 7 HP ( two-cylinder engine ). There were also larger models with chain drives that had 12 HP (two-cylinder engine), 16 HP or 24 HP.
