Sportscar Special was a Dutch manufacturer of automobiles . The brand names were Sportscar and Matula .
Company history
The company was founded in Cruquius in 1974 and started producing automobiles in 1975. In 1977 a fire ended production. The body molds for a model survived the fire undamaged and were sold to High Speed along with the license rights . In 1979 Bart Holland from Zwammerdam took over the company. In 1980 the company was dissolved.
Automobiles
Brand name Sportscar
Under this brand name, the company manufactured two different buggies called Sportscarbuggy . A model was based on the prototype Bird's Buggy by Jacques Vogel.
Brand name Matula
The company offered the Matula GT model as a kit car . This was a license build of the American Talon . A coupé body was mounted on the shortened chassis of the VW Beetle .
