Martaré

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martaré was a Dutch car brand.

Company history

Ed Martaré from Amsterdam was a commercial artist and ran a polyester company in Aalsmeer . He designed a hardtop for a convertible and in 1971 the prototype of a coupé , of which he manufactured and sold eight copies by 1973.

Automobiles

The hardtop was created for the Fiat 850 Spider and was sold in small series. The Coupé Martaré GT was either equipped with two gullwing doors or, in an even smaller series, as a flip-over front (the entire front structure was opened together with the windows) and was similar to the Thurner RS . While the prototype was equipped with parts from the Fiat 238 and the four-cylinder engine from the Fiat 125 , a chassis from VW was used in the series . The kit cost 9,500 Dutch guilders , the complete vehicle 17,000 guilders. At least one vehicle and the forms for the body have been preserved.
