The Roman Catholic Diocese of Floresta ( Latin Dioecesis Florestensis , Portuguese Diocese de Floresta ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Floresta in the state of Pernambuco .
history
The diocese of Floresta was founded on February 15, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Qui secreto from cedings of territory by the dioceses of Pesqueira and Petrópolis and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Olinda e Recife as a suffragan . On June 16, 2010, the diocese of Floresta gave parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Salgueiro .
