history

The diocese of Floriano was founded on February 27, 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Brasiliensium fidelium through the division of the Diocese of Oeiras-Floriano and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Teresina as a suffragan .
