The Roman Catholic Diocese of Granada en Colombia ( lat. : Dioecesis Granadiensis in Columbia , span. : Diócesis de Granada ) is one in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Granada en Colombia .
history
Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Ariari on January 16, 1964 from cessions of territory of the Vicariate Apostolic Villavicencio . On October 3, 1987, she was promoted to the Apostolic Vicariate .
With the Apostolic Constitution Cum Vicariatus it was raised to a diocese on October 29, 1999, took its current name and was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bogotá as a suffragan diocese.
On July 3, 2004, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Villavicencio .
