history

The diocese Miao was on December 7, 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Pastorale munus from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Dibrugarh and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Guwahati as a suffragan . First bishop was George Palliparampil SDB .

The diocese of Miao includes the districts of Anjaw , Changlang , Dibang Valley , Lohit , Lower Dibang Valley and Tirap in the state of Arunachal Pradesh .
