history

The diocese of Nuevo Laredo was established on November 6, 1989 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quo Facilius from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and the Diocese of Matamoros and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Monterrey as a suffragan .
