The Diocese of Paisley ( Latin : Dioecesis Pasletanus ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland , which was established by the Apostolic Constitution Maxime Interest on May 25, 1947 from areas of Inverclyde , Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire (without Thornliebank ) of the Archdiocese of Glasgow . The bishopric is St. Mirin's Cathedral in Paisley . The patron saint of the diocese is Saint Mirin .
