history
The diocese of San Roque de Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña was on August 12, 1963 by Pope Paul VI. with the papal bull Supremum Ecclesiae from cession of territory of the diocese Resistencia as diocese Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña and subordinated to the archbishopric Corrientes as a suffragan diocese. On February 28, 1984 it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Resistencia as a suffragan. The Diocese of Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña changed its name to the Diocese of San Roque de Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña on February 28, 1992 .
