The diocese of Udaipur ( lat. : Dioecesis Udaipurensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Udaipur .

history

The diocese of Udaipur was established on December 3, 1984 by Pope John Paul II from cessions of territory from the diocese of Ajmer and Jaipur and subordinated to the archdiocese of Agra as a suffragan diocese. First Bishop was Joseph Pathalil . On March 25, 2002, the Diocese of Udaipur gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Jhabua .

The diocese of Udaipur comprises the districts of Udaipur , Rajsamand , Bhilwara , Chittorgarh , Dungarpur and Banswara in the state of Rajasthan and the Tehsil Thandla of the district of Jhabua in the state of Madhya Pradesh .
