The diocese Xingu Altamira ( Portuguese Diocese de Xingu Altamira ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Altamira in the state of Pará .
history
The diocese of Xingu-Altamira was established on November 6, 2019 by Pope Francis from parts of the dissolved territorial prelature of Xingu and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santarém as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was João Muniz Alves, OFM .
The diocese of Xingu-Altamira includes the municipalities of Altamira, Vitória do Xingu , Senador José Porfírio , Porto de Moz , Gurupá , Anapu , Brasil Novo , Medicilândia , Uruará and Placas .
