Blachère Illumination is a French company in the field of Christmas lights and light decorations. The seat is in the southern French city of Apt .
Blachère Illumination is a global company with over 200 employees in its worldwide offices. According to its own information, it is the international market leader in its division with sales of more than € 50 million. The company has been exporting since 1989. In 2010 more than 50 countries are supplied from France. There are 16 branches in Europe, North and South America and Africa.
history
The company was founded by Jean-Paul Blachère in 1972. He had lamp motifs first made on wooden panels and from 1974 on steel structures. In 1987 the company developed the Fil Lumière light tube . Since 2001 branches have been opened in the United Kingdom, Portugal, Canada, the USA, Spain, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Belgium, Hungary, Romania, Brazil, Colombia, Sweden, Holland and Tunisia. From 2002 the light motifs were made of aluminum. In 2003, Blachere Illumination was the first company in Europe to use white and blue LEDs for Christmas lights. In 2007, Blachere Illumination developed solar-powered light motifs.

Social Commitment
The company is committed to environmental protection and documents this commitment with an "Environment Charter for Sustainable Development ". The Jean Paul Blachère Foundation for Modern African Art, founded in 2004, has an art center with exhibition rooms, an apartment with a studio for artists, a documentation center, a gallery and a shop.
