Blair Walsh was a kicker for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2008 to 2011 . He kicked 184 of 185 extra points and 76 of 103 field goals . He scored his longest field goal from 56 yards away.

NFL

Minnesota Vikings

Walsh was signed in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft as the 175th player by the Minnesota Vikings . There he should replace Ryan Longwell , who moved to the Seattle Seahawks . In his first season he broke the NFL record for the most successful field goals over 50 yards in one season, he scored a total of ten. He also set the team record for most points scored by a rookie , with a total of 141 points, just three points behind the NFL record. In addition, he equalized the NFL record for most field goals scored by a rookie, with 35 field goals he drew level with Ali Haji-Sheikh , who had held this record since 1983. Because of his good performance, he was elected to both the Pro Bowl and (as the only rookie) in the All-Pro team.

In the fourth game of the 2013 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers , he broke the old NFL record of eleven field goals with his twelfth field goal over 50 yards in a row.

In the wild card game of the 2015 season against the Seattle Seahawks , he missed a field goal from 27 yards 26 seconds before the end with a score of 10: 9 for the Seahawks, which is why the Vikings were eliminated from the play-offs .

After a poor start to the 2016 season, the Minnesota Vikings announced their release on November 15, 2016 .

Seattle Seahawks

On February 9, 2017, Walsh signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks , who lost their kicker Steven Hauschka to the Buffalo Bills in the Free Agency .

Atlanta Falcons
