Blood Command is a Norwegian punk rock band from Bergen . The band was formed in 2008 and is under contract with Fysisk Format .

history

The band was founded as a joke by guitarist Yngve Andersen and drummer Sigurd Haakaas. Both were playing in the hardcore band Jeroan Drive at the time and wanted to mix different types of music. The band name arose from the musicians' preference for kitschy action films from the 1980s such as Bloodsport or Das Phantom Kommando . Together with the singer Silje Tombre, the band recorded the EP Five Inches of a Car Accident and played the first concerts.

After a second EP Party All the Way to the Hospital , the debut album Ghostclocks was released in 2010 . The album was nominated for the Spellemann Prize in the Rock category. However, the award went to the band Kvelertak . In 2011 the third EP Hand Us the Alpha Male was released! before the second studio album Funeral Beach was released at the end of 2012 . Nikolas Jon Aarland (guitar) and Simon O. Økland ( bass ), who were previously active as studio and live musicians, became full band members with this studio album. In 2014 the band announced the departure of singer Silje Tombre. The line-up was completed by Karina Ljone.

At the end of April 2017, the band released their third studio album Cult Drugs , after the single Cult Drugs was released in January of the same year . The album was described on teamrock.com as energetic and versatile; nevertheless it is clearly attributable to the genre of post-hardcore, in which the band has moved from the start.

style

Yngve Andersen stated that the musicians hear a wide variety of styles and that the band has a wide variety of influences, the main ones being Drive Like Jehu , At the Drive-In , Refused , Hot Snakes , Depeche Mode , New Order , Descendents , The Faint , Comeback Kid , The Cure and Sonic Youth are. The lyrics are inspired by the members' thoughts, movies, hate, love, revenge, the things they hate, the things they love, etc.
