Boarnsterhim ( Dutch Boornsterhem ) was a municipality in the province of Friesland ( Netherlands ). It had 19,478 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2013).
) (The community used the Frisian place names. The administrative seat was Grou ( nl . : Grouw ), the other places in the former municipality are: Akkrum, Aldeboarn ( Oldeboorn ), Dearsum ( Deersum ), Eagum ( Aegum ), Friens, Idaerd ( Idaard ), Jirnsum ( Irnsum ), Nes , Poppenwier ( Poppingawier ), Raerd ( Rauwerd ), Reduum ( Roordahuizum ), Sibrandabuorren ( Sijbrandaburen ), Terherne ( Terhorne ), Tersoal ( Terzool ), Warstiens, Warten ( Wartena ) and Wergea ( Warga ).
The municipality was dissolved on January 1, 2014 and divided between the neighboring municipalities of Heerenveen , Leeuwarden , Súdwest-Fryslân and the new municipality of De Fryske Marren .
