Boay Gurgo

Boay Gurgo (also Woy Gurgo ; * 1961 or 1962) is a former Tanzanian long-distance runner . At a height of 1.52 meters, he had a competition weight of 40 kilograms.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s he took part in several marathons ; Among other things, he took part in this discipline in 1987 in the African Games in the Kenyan capital Nairobi and narrowly missed a medal in fourth place. The following year he ran the prestigious Boston Marathon . Gurgo celebrated his greatest success in 1991 when he won the Bremen Marathon and won 10,000 DM in prize money. At that time he was managed and trained by Volker Wagner from Detmold .

At least in 1991, Gurgo worked full-time as a government employee.
