The Bobach is an underflow in the open landscape of the Fischach Valley, which flows from the right and southwest into the Fischach , which drains the valley , near the village of Oberfischach in the Obersontheim municipality in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in north-eastern Baden-Württemberg . It arises from the confluence of the longer right upper reaches of the Rotbach and the smaller, left Rohrbach , and is only about three quarters of a kilometer in length, but with the Rotbach it is about three and a half kilometers.

Surname

According to the description of the Oberamt Gaildorf from 1852, the stream lower course was then called R obach . On the map of the Kingdom of Württemberg from 1841, the name reads more like B obach .

geography

Upper Rotbach

The approximately 3.2 km long Rotbach arises about 2.8 km west of the center of Oberfischach at about 490  m above sea level. NHN next to the coal road on the eastern edge of the Gewann Muselmoor on the wooded plateau of the northern Limpurger Mountains . Taking up a few right tributaries, it flows with a flat curve to the south in an easterly direction, on the longer part of this route already on the edge of the forest or outside, to the confluence on the southern edge of Oberfischach. Its catchment area contributes almost two thirds to that of the Bobach. As the main upper course, it shares the official waterway identification number with the Bobach lower course.

Upper Rohrbach

The only about 1.9 km long Rohrbach also arises in the west of Oberfischach in the forest, but closer to the village at about 465  m above sea level. NHN . With a catchment area of only 0.9 km², it is the significantly smaller upper reaches. On its predominantly eastern course, like its right-hand counterpart, it mostly runs in a clearly formed valley through the corridor and, after entering the Oberfischach settlement area, turns shortly to the southeast to the confluence.

Bobach

The Bobach runs on the southern outskirts of Oberfischach at 407.5  m above sea level. NHN in a flat, tree and bushless meadow hollow from its upper courses. The left Rohrbach, which has been running in an artificially drawn ditch for a long time, is led here at an acute angle to the Rotbach, which is already several hundred meters long. The resulting Bobach then continues up to its mouth in the northeastern inlet direction of the larger Rotbach. After about 100 meters a small bridge spans it in the course of the Fischachtalstraße K 2627, this main traffic axis of the Fischachtal comes out of the village and then climbs onto a low land platform on the right of the stream. This flows below the bridge, initially accompanied by a younger planted tree gallery, which stops at the end of the village. At an acute angle, the K 2619 road from Oberfischach to Hausen approaches the stream, where a field hedge stands just a few dozen meters in length before it passes under it. Below the road crossing the vegetation ceases completely and a hundred meters later the Bobach flows out at 399  m above sea level. NHN from the right and southwest into the middle Fischach.

Catchment area

Topographic atlas of the Kingdom of Württemberg, scale 1: 50,000. Sheet XXX, 1841

The Bobach drains an area of 3.4 km², which in terms of natural space lies in the sub-areas of the Limpurger Mountains and Fischach Bay and peripheral heights ; the Bobach itself is only just beginning and only runs in Fischach Bay, while the upper reaches of the Limpurger Mountains. It extends from the watershed in the area or a little west of the coal road, which runs through the wooded plateau of the northern Limpurger Mountains, about 3.5 km east-northeast to the confluence with the Fischach about 0.8 km east of the center of Oberfischach. Across it, it is a maximum of 1.2 km wide. It arises from the right main upper reaches Rotbach in the northwest corner of the forest Won Muselmoor , running on his forest portion and for a short distance thereafter, east-southeast to the central axis, he successively formed at the center of the west side or in the southwest corner feeds from the right millstone Bach or Esterichbach receives , and then moves on this axis, finally after the inlet of the Rohrbach from the left in the village of Oberfischach, under the name Bobach to its mouth.

The western watershed runs a bit rough, mostly west of the coal route. It runs from the Hundshof forest a little north of the Dreikaiserlinde in the south to the Muselmoor in the north. On this section, a right inflow of the Eutendorfer Steppach , then left tributaries of the Adelbach and the latter itself compete for a short time outside of the Kohlhäule ; both collecting waters then flow directly into the digester . At the Muselmoor the sheath bends to the east and now separates the upstream right Fischach tributary Lustbach from the catchment area , it runs on the route first of the Oberfischacher Weg, then on the foothills over the valley slopes of Pfingsthald (Lustbach side) and Hag (Rohrbach side), further to the east separates the northern edge of the Oberfischach settlement from a large industrial building and then reaches the Bobach estuary in a shallow outlet.

From there it climbs a little to the southwest on the terrain plateau between Oberfischach and the Mühlhof, then climbs more steeply the wooded height of the Siebersberg above the Oberfischacher Schützenhaus, to then through the Waldgewanne Siebersberg and Langer Esterich in front of the Benzenbach in the south, the next larger Fischach tributary, to walk almost two and a half kilometers westwards to the Hundshof .

The highest point in the catchment area is close to its southwest corner in Hundshof at 499  m above sea level. NHN . On the western watershed, the terrain is mostly over 490  m above sea level. NHN , only in a short dent in the plateau in the Gewann Mühlstein , where the Mühlsteinbach running to the Rotbach and on the other side the left tributary Antebach of the Adelbach arise close to each other , it falls below 472  m above sea level. NHN . The most noticeable watershed in nature is the southern to the Benzenbach, where Langer Esterich and Siebersberg form a long, wooded, eastern plateau prominence, initially over 490  m above sea level. NHN , at the end mostly still over 480  m above sea level. NHN lies. The northern watershed to the Lustbach is consistently lower and falls below 470  m above sea level on the eastern ledge that ends here much earlier . NHN .

Just over half of the catchment area is forested. The natural border between the Limpurger Mountains in the west (natural area no.108.60) and the Fischachbucht and Randhöhen meadows (natural area no.108.61), both of which form the Swabian-Franconian forest mountains (natural area- No. 108). Most of the open land is plowed, namely on the not too steep and not too wet locations; some fields reach as far as the three watercourses. The only place in the catchment area is Oberfischach, which is mainly located on the slope to the left of Rohrbach and Bobach, a small but already old part of the settlement also on the rise to the Rotberg terrain between Rotbach and Rohrbach. In the soft landscape of the place there are several fruit trees in cottage gardens.

With the exception of about 10 hectares in the high forest in the far west, the entire catchment area lies on the Oberfischach submarket of Obersontheim. Of the area outside, less than one hectare belongs to the Eutendorf subdivision of Gaildorf, the rest to Michelbach an der Bilz .

geology

The course of the Bobach and its tributaries lies entirely in the Keuper . The Rotbach rises in the transition area between the silica sandstone ( Hassberge Formation ) of the plateau of the Limpurger Mountains and the lower colored marl below ( Steigerwald Formation ), the other upper reaches (Mühlsteinbach, Esterichbach, Rohrbach) a little deeper. On the eastern edge of the Limpurg Mountains, in the catchment area, reed sandstone ( Stuttgart Formation ) is widely spread in flood plains. curved belt, it covers the terrain below the plateau on the eastern foothills over the slopes of Pfingsthalde (to the Lustbach in the north) and Hag (to the Rohrbach), the Rotberg between Rohrbach and Rotbach and shows itself in a slope flattening on the inner flank of the Langer spur Esterich - Siebersberg . The two ravines that climb the two projections from Oberfischach open it up. At the exit from the forest, the two source brooks Rotbach and Rohrbach already run in the Gipskeuper ( Grabfeld formation ), the lower reaches of both as well as the Bobach then in a floodplain sediment band. The land platform to the right of the Bobach is leveled over the thin, but erosion-resistant dolomitized Corbula layer of the gypsum keuper, formerly known as the Engelhofer plate .

Two fault lines of the east-northeast moving Neckar-Jagst furrow run roughly on the axes of Rohrbach and Rotbach or Bobach.

Nature and protected areas

The corridor portion of the catchment area, minus the settlement areas of Oberfischach, is part of the Fischachtal landscape protection area with side valleys and adjacent areas between Herlebach and Kottspiel . The Rotbach and its two large tributaries carry water all year round, their beds meandering through the forest show a sediment of stones and sand and are mostly lined with alders and ash trees. After it leaves the forest, wet meadows, reed beds and swamp areas accompany its course. Shortly after its exit from the forest, there are also smaller wet meadow areas next to the Rohrbach. The two ravines mentioned in the section on geology are covered on both sides with hedges and trees, the tops of which are partially closed. On the Rotberg there are 2 hectares of dry grass with a wide hedge zone on the edge of a natural monument. There are numerous field hedges in the corridor of the open valleys.
