Bompensiere is a municipality in Caltanissetta consortium of municipalities outside the region Sicily in Italy with 526 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Bompensiere is 39 km west of Caltanissetta . The residents mainly work in agriculture.

The neighboring communities are Milena , Montedoro , Mussomeli , Racalmuto ( AG ) and Sutera .

history

Bompensiere was founded in 1631 by Ottavio Lanza e Barresi. From 1817 to 1868 it was independent. From 1868 to 1911 the place belonged to the municipality of Montedoro. The community has been independent again since 1911. The place is called Naduri in Sicilian parlance.

Attractions

The church of SS. Crocifisso was built in the 17th century.
