Mazzarino is a municipality in Caltanissetta consortium of municipalities outside the region Sicily in Italy with 11,445 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Mazzarino is 39 kilometers southeast of Caltanissetta . The residents mainly work in agriculture. Grains, olives, almonds and citrus fruits are grown.

history

The place arose in the second half of the 13th century around a castle, of which a round tower and some walls are still preserved. In 1507 the feudal lord was given the title of Count von Mazzarino .
