Villalba is a town in Caltanissetta consortium of municipalities outside the region Sicily in Italy with 1,526 inhabitants (December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Villalba is 50 km north-west of Caltanissetta and 100 km south-east of Palermo . The name Villalba means white city (because of the whitewashed houses). The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture and in the plastics processing industry.

The neighboring communities are Cammarata ( AG ), Castellana Sicula ( PA ), Marianopoli , Mussomeli , Petralia Sottana (PA), Polizzi Generosa (PA) and Vallelunga Pratameno .

A small place already existed in Arab times until 1175. Today's place was founded in 1753.
