Brandnew Oldies Volume 1 is a music album released in 2004 by Carsten Bohn's Bandstand . It is the prelude to a series of new recordings of the pieces of music that have been used in radio plays on the Europa label from 1979 to 1988, comprising three editions so far . The series was continued with Brandnew Oldies Volume 2 (2005) and Brandnew Oldies Volume 3 (2009). Carsten Bohn's radio play music combines elements from jazz , pop , rock , fusion and easy listening music.
History of origin
The album was recorded in the HOME Studios in Hamburg , produced by Carsten Bohn and Josko Kasten. All titles are reinterpretations of the songs from well-known radio play series such as The Three Question Marks , TKKG and The Horror Series . The original recordings are currently not allowed to be published due to a legal dispute.
Cover
The front motif of the CD booklet pays homage to the radio play series in which the music was originally used. It is a collage of individual fragments, each of which is based on the graphic design of one of these series. The artwork was designed by lillebror , who is also responsible for the covers of the following albums Vol. 2 and 3.
