The Brown Bach is an almost three kilometer long stream of Ellwanger Mountains in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in the northeastern Baden-Wuerttemberg , the majority in the municipality of Bühlerzell runs and just before the Avenmühle the community Buehlertann with the coming from the right Sauerbach the left Oberlaufast of Avenbachs merges .

geography

course

The brown brook arises in the northeast bay of the clearing island around Kammerstatt about 0.8 km from the hamlet on the edge of the forest on the Sauerberg to the Schälbühl Flurgewann at about 490  m above sea level. NHN . The stream initially runs west through a wide, slowly deepening hollow, mostly in the corridor near the edge of the forest in the north. After he has broken away from the forest, a tree gallery begins around him. He is now digging a blade in which the expanding forest will accompany him. It turns slightly to the west-northwest and passes a small waterworks. From the left and then from the right out of the Rappensturz small blade cracks run towards it, after the last open valley floor begins on the right under the first house in the hamlet of Holenstein on the slope. He passes a small fish pond on the right bank and then enters the Holenstein area, where his only significant tributary, Reutebach, flows down from the Frühmessholz from the left at the chapel .

He leaves the place in the course next to the K 2626 leading to Bühlertann- Kottspiel . Before the now sloping spur of the Ulrichsberg he changes the side of the road, passes a pond, there for the last hundred meters it crosses the area of the municipality of Bühlertann and then flows, finally again in a westerly direction, at about 396  m above sea level. NHN with the coming out of the Sauerbach forest in northeastern Sauerbach the left roll call Oberlaufast of Avenbachs together. The right upper branch of the Avenbach drains a little further up a lake that is also fed by the Sauerbach. The branches of the receiving water flow together less than 200 meters further at the Avenmühle .

The Braune Bach ends after a 2.9 km run about 94 meters below its origin, its mean bottom slope is therefore about 32 ‰.

Catchment area

The brown brook drains an area of about 2.2 km², which lies in the northwest of the lower natural area Ellwanger Berge of the Swabian-Franconian Waldberg . Here are the rocks of the Mittelkeuper , from the Stubensandstein ( Löwenstein formation ) down to the Gipskeuper ( grave field formation ). The stream rises in the transition area between the Stubensandstein and the underlying Upper Bunten Marl ( Mainhardt Formation ), a clayey storage layer from which it soon changes into the silica sandstone ( Hassberge Formation ). This is followed near the waterworks in its small forest canyon by the somewhat wider zone of the Lower Colorful Marl ( Steigerwald Formation ), whereupon it runs on reed sandstone ( Stuttgart Formation ) from around the beginning of Holenstein . Only shortly before the confluence in the meadow of the Sauerbach / Avenbach does it reach the Gipskeuper after this.

The greatest height of almost 505  m above sea level. NHN reaches the area at the eastern tip in the forest on the Sauerberg. From there, the right and northern watershed runs westward over the Ulrichsberg spur to the mouth, on the other side the left tributary Sauerbergbach and then the Sauerbach itself drain the other side of the ridge. On the Sauerberg there is a short border section to the Wolfsklinge , which runs roughly in the opposite direction to the Blinden Rot in the east. From the bend in the southern Sauerberg, the left watershed follows the ridge road axis to Kammerstatt (L 2628) and a little further in the direction of Bühlerzell (L 2627); outside the group stream competes with the upper Bühler . The left catchment area boundary then bends from the ridge and the road to the northwest approximately above the Reutebach springs and runs over the Anzenbach in the direction of the confluence with the Sauerbach; The only significant lower tributary, the Sperberklingenbach, of the Avenbach, which also runs to the Bühler, competes on this section .

There is a little more open land than forest in the area. The only place on the bank is Holenstein on the middle course. A small part of Kammerstatt is also on this side of the watershed in the south. Both hamlets belong to the municipality of Bühlerzell , as does almost the entire area, with the exception of just a strip near the mouth in the west of the Bühlertanner district.

In the corner of the mouth of the castle is Holenstein , the lost castle used the low spur of the mouth as a hill.

Confluence of the Brauner Bach from the left and finally east to about 396  m above sea level. NHN next to the K 2626 less than 200 meters before the Avenmühle with the Sauerbach coming from the right to the left upper branch of the Avenbach . The brown brook is 2.9 km long and has a catchment area of approx. 2.2 km².

Nature and reserve

The Braune Bach flows naturally from the onset of its accompanying gallery to the local border of Holenstein. After the hamlet, trees again line its gently meandering course until the side of the road changes a little before the estuary. The eastern third of the catchment area is a water protection area .
