Right tributaries Drängetalbach

The Braune Wasser (formerly called Braunwasserbach ) is a southwestern and right tributary of the Holtemme in the Harz Mountains . The stream flows in the urban area of Wernigerode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt .

course

The brown water runs entirely in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park and in the Harz Mountains. It rises in the southwest of the Wernigeroder urban area on wooded slopes above the Hohnebruchs, which lies to the east below the Hohnekamm ridge crowned by the Hohneklippen ( 900.6  m ) and a little north to northwest of Drei Annen Hohne . The upper course arises from two short streams: the left rises at about 690  m and the real at about 655  m ; both unite at a height of about 592  m .

The stream, which mainly flows north-east and passes east of the Ottofels in the upper reaches, runs through the Thumkuhlental and, after passing the Thumkuhlenköpf ( 559.1  m ) , receives the Drängetalbach flowing from the south.

The brown water flows a little southwest above the train station of the Wernigeroder district of Hasserode of the Harzquer- and Brockenbahn at a height of 237.9  m into the Bode tributary Holtemme coming there from the west-southwest .

Others

The brown water was called Braunwasserbach in the 16th century . A street in Hasserode is named after the brook. From the 17th to the 19th century, the water was partially the border river of the Prussian office of Hasserode.
